We arrive in Curacao on November 22. Steve got a clean bill of health from his doctor with a stern warning to not bump his head. Hmmm, good thing he brought a helmet.
Thanksgiving Day we have a spectacular feast with our friends (left to right) Krista, Judi, Edd, Sid, Anne and Steve.
Let me give that to you one more time: Krista, Manuela, Edd, Sid, Anne and Steve.
Everyone brings a family favorite. Starting with the appetizers, the celery and olives is a Nona Walsh (Steve's mom) tradition. The wine is an Anne Walsh tradition and the eggs are from the Alaska book of Thanksgiving....thanks Judi and Edd
Inside is the real thing....the turkey, gravy, pistachio salad, brussel sprouts, green beans, sweet potatoes, cranberries, mashed potatoes, and a loaf of German bread made by Krista
Mouthwatering
A few days later we recover and resume our boat cleaning and maintenance. After 3 months of sitting in the warm water there is plenty to do. The weather in Curacao has been unusually wet. Seems the southern jet stream has settled right over the island. Mold and mildew are our nemesis. Steve decides to install a new floor (dri-deck) in our cockpit.

The outside of the boat is in need of some attention but with daily rain it is hard to motivate ourselves to the job.
Across the marina is Clair de Lune. Edd and Judi are from Alaska. They brought their boat down the Pacific Coast, through the Panama Canal and into the Caribbean. Edd is our go-to-guy for any mechanical, electrical or electronic issues. He is a walking, talking genius. Judi makes the most amazing cookies and cakes. She is dangerous to be around.
Down the dock is Paradise. Sid is from LA, California and Manuela is from Switzerland. They sailed their boat from Marina Del Rey, California through the Panama Canal and into the Caribbean. They have a wealth of boating knowledge, love to have a good time and help anyone anytime with anything.
Seru Boca Marina is located in the Santa Barbara Development. A very upscale gated community with beautiful custom built homes
The natural landscape surrounds an 18 hole golf course
The Marina is tucked away in a bay surrounded by mangroves and mosquitos
It is a good place to tuck away your prized possession
We are planning to leave the island on Thursday or Friday. We will head west and anchor overnight in Santa Cruz Bay. From there we will leave very early and head to Aruba. We should be in Aruba Friday afternoon. We'll let you know.

Bet Steve is Happy to have so much to clean! Just turned GREEN looking at your Thanksgiving photos! Would Love to have been with you all, but will look forward to you getting to Aruba. It's good to have a special day (Thanksgiving) to remind us of what's really important. Friends like you top the list!

Hey guys! It was great seeing you while you were home. We're glad to hear you made it safe and sound back to the beautiful Fineline, even though it's extremely dirty (boy, it really shows in the photos!), ha. I don't see that helmet on the flooring guy though :) Have a safe trip to Aruba.
